Stretch marks, also known as Striae, are a form of scarring within the skin caused by tearing within the Dermis. This is caused by rapid stretching of the skin, therefore often associated with weight gain, pregnancy, growth spurts or body-building.
New stretch marks look red or purple and then over time they begin to atrophy and lose their colour. They are a cosmetic nuisance but do not pose any health risk. We offer skin resurfacing to treat the appearance of stretch marks.
